The weather in June was cooler than average (-2.0 degrees), as both the lows and highs were a few degrees below average.

Rainfall ended up a little above average (+0.19 inches), with the total at my location of 1.07 inches. This was within an area from the central to the northern parts of the valley and west toward Arroyo Hondo that received above average rain (see map below). Drier areas were mainly across the southern third of the valley where amounts around 0.75 of an inch were recorded.

The first week of the month was wetter and cooler than usual, with highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s and lows in the mid 30s to mid 40s for the most part. The bulk of the rain for the month (nearly 90%) occurred in this first week, from the 1st to the 7th. Heaviest amounts occurred mainly on the 1st, with many areas receiving over a half inch of rain. At my location I received 0.71 inches of rain, a record amount for the day.

The rest of the month was generally on the dry side, save for a few days with meager rainfall (11th, 27th and 28th). Temperatures remained pleasantly cool into the second week with highs in the 70s and lows in the upper 30s and 40s. The last half of the month was a little warmer than average with highs in the 80s to around 90, and lows in the mid 40s to mid 50s.

The warmest high was 91 degrees on the 26th. The coldest low was 36 degrees on the 3rd. No temperature records were set during the month.

Wind speeds overall were near average for the month, although the first half was a bit below average, while the second half was a little above average. There were 14 days with gusts of 35 mph or higher. The windiest days were on the 11th, 17th, and 23th. The highest gust of 53 mph occurred on the 27th around 315 PM from a thunderstorm.
