February 2025 was much warmer and drier than average. The average temperature was 38.5 degrees, about 7.4 degrees above average, making it the 3rd warmest February on record (only Feb 1907 and Feb 1995 were warmer). Precipitation totaled only 0.13 inches, which was the 6th driest on record, while snowfall was just 0.2 inches, the lowest total ever recorded for the month.
Highs for the month averaged nearly 9 degrees above average, while lows averaged about 6 degrees above average. Precipitation for the month all fell on just one day, the 14th. There were lots of sunny warm days, especially during the first third and last third of the month.
The month started off with some snow still on the ground from the January 29th/30th snowstorm, but that quickly melted away as temperatures soared into the mid 50s to low 60s during the first 10 days of the month. Daily record warm highs were set on the 4th and 7th. Colder air moved into the area for the next week or so, as highs dropped into the upper 30s and 40s with lows in the teens to low 20s. Rain and some snow fell on the 14th, then it started to dry out and warm up again for the last third of the month. Highs reached in the mid 50s to mid 60s during the last week of the month.
The warmest high was 66 degrees on the 24th, while the coldest high was 37 degrees on the 12th. The coldest low was 12 degrees on the 13th, while the warmest low was 34 degrees on the 11th.
Winds for the month were about average, with the windiest days on the 11th, 12th, and 26th. Seven days had gusts of 35 mph or higher, with the highest gust of 48 mph occurring on the 14th as some showers along a cold front blew through the area.
