Welcome!

The website has several pages, the first being the Almanac which will show temperature and precipitation data, including the previous day’s high and low along with any precipitation – all of these measurements are for the calendar day 24 hour period from midnight to midnight, recorded at my location on the north side of town near the US 64 / NM 522 / NM 150 intersection (Old Blinking Light). The next page is for Discussions which will talk about the current and future weather situations, and any other interesting weather features for the Taos area.

The next block is the Climatology section which will usually have monthly summaries and other associated items of interest. The period of observations starts about 1902 and continues to the present, with the observation site for Taos moving around quite a bit, from the Ranchos area to the town of Taos, and finally to my current north location. The period of record that the averages and departures are computed from is 1902 to 2019.

As for myself, I was a meteorologist in the National Weather Service for 29 years, with another 4 years before that as Weather Officer in the U.S. Air Force. I retired and have been in the Taos area since 2010.
